There is a lot of misinformation out there about quails. You might have heard that they can’t fly, but how fast do they fly? Let’s take a look at the facts and find out!  The average speed of quail flight is about 55 km/h, or 34 mph.  They can fly at altitudes up to 600 meters (around 200 feet) without tiring.  Quails are well adapted for flying; they have a long wingspan and short legs which help them get into the air easily and quickly. There’s no need to worry if you’ve been told that quails don’t fly! As it turns out, they’re able to take off in pursuit of food sources from grassy fields as far as 32 ft away when threatened by humans. It may be possible that people were misinformed because this type of bird doesn’t generally flap its wings much while airborne like other birds do
